Jola & Brad E-session

I had so much fun photographing these two! Brad was referred to me while at work one day. My BFF April overheard Brad telling his partner that the last thing on the wedding planning list was finding a photographer and walah! They contacted me. Referals rock!

I was immediately drawn to Brad & Jola, we have a lot of common ground. Brad works in the same field as Scott, spending his days trying to save the lives of others. Jola shares my passion for taking pictures and serves in the military, a different branch from my brother. We had plenty to talk about!

They loved spending time downtown, and since we have UNLIMITED time for pictures the day of their wedding (I heart couples that plan for pictures!) we will be trekking all over Downtown Detroit. So I thought Belle Isle would be perfect for their e-session.

The weather thankfully held out. It was pretty sketchy all day if it was going to be a washout or not. When it finally cleared up, we were unsure what the wind was going to be like. But we took our chances and I'm so glad we did! It was super windy, especially being on the water, but we worked it out and I was even able to use it to my advantage!

Jola was excited when I suggested Belle Isle for their e-session. It was the first she saw of Detroit when she came to America as an exchange student.

I wanted to make sure I included the Detroit skyline in their images for them, so here's something a little different.

mmmm, yummy lens flare

Jola's smile is so infectious

Love it!

Work it out girl!!

Some romantic black and whites..

humming...Isn't she lovely...

One word. HOT!

I love the feeling to this one...swoon...

I love this series... See how much fun we're having!

See what I mean? So much fun! It was a little flooded by the tower, so Brad threw Jola on his back for a little ride.

It was Jola's idea to do some shots over here, it's one of her favorite trees.

Clare & Jamie E-session

I first met Clare and Jamie at my first bridal show last fall.  I remember seeing them walk into Manzella's and hoping they'd come over to see my table.  They both had this ultra hip, trendy look to them and I knew I just had to get my lens on them!  You can imagine how stoked I was when they called to book me as their photographer!

I met them at their new house in Columbus for their e-session.  Set away from the road, surrounded by trees we had so much to work with!  I got there a few minutes early and they weren't quite ready yet.  So I took a little drive down their dirt road and found some train tracks!  I just knew we had to take a drive down there at some point!  What I loved the most (besides her blue shoes) about their session was how personal they made it.  Clare & Jamie, I'm so excited for your wedding!  I hope you enjoy the pics!

Jamie proposed to Clare with the ring around their black kitty's neck on this couch!  I loved that they had the couch all ready to come outside and wanted to include their kitties in the pics!

They also had Clare's parents engagement picture with them.  They wanted a pose just like theirs!  Sooo thoughtful!

This is probably one of my favorite images from the day, although it's so hard to choose!  Right before this shot, Jamie's lips were actually twitching!  He just wanted to kiss her so badly!  I totally busted him and love this shot I got!  Kiss away guys, this is your engagement session!  It's all about the love....

See what I mean?  Seriously, I would never think to pair blue shoes with a red and white top!  I'm just not that stylish and really don't think I could ever pull it off.  But Clare looked amazing!

This looks like it could be a magazine ad for Calvin Klein or something!  SMOKIN' HOT!

Just gorgeous!  Look at her eyes, they match her shoes!

If you're familiar with St. Clair County, you've probably seen these barns before.  It's Clare's family that owns these farms.  How fun to be able to include the family in their engagement pics!

Another top fav from the day!  This my friends, is where the reception will take place.  It's going to be absolutely beautiful!

And I'll end with yet another favorite from the day!

Angela & Jeff E-Session

The first time I had the opportunity to meet Angela and Jeff in person was during their engagement session.  Jeff and I had been communicating over e-mail and finally got to meet in person at the Rochester Hills Municipal park.  It's such a beautiful park, I really enjoy shooting there.

It was so nice to meet both of you and I'm looking forward to your wedding this August!  Here's some of my favorites from the day...

The brought their beautiful lab with them for some pictures too!  I love including people's pets in their pictures, but sometimes it does make it challenging!  After some loving for Mom, we did manage to get a couple of shots with her.  She's such a cute puppy isn't she?

Cindy's 1st Communion

I had the opportunity to capture a very special event in this gorgeous little girl's life a few weeks ago.  I was so excited when April contacted me about shooting Cindy's 1st Communion!  Cindy is such a great kid and I'm lucky to have the Goldwater's for neighbors.  I swear if you were to google "Good People" a picture of Jim, April and their kids would come up!  Okay, probably not, April isn't exactly "connected" yet, but I'm working on her!

Anyways, on to Cindy's day!  It was an absolutely gorgeous day with blue skies with those big fluffy clouds rolling by.  The ceremony was held at St. A's in Roseville.

This image cracks me up!  That's Cindy, always testing the waters!  A girl after my own heart...

Cindy is a true Nature lover and is definitely happier climbing trees and playing with frogs and toads then wearing a dress!  So how appropriate that we got some pics of her climbing trees in her dress!

And of course on the super fun tire swing in the backyard!

Thank you so much for having me capture Cindy's big day for you guys!  I had an amazing time and am proud to have been part of it!
